Coming Through The Storm

I can’t believe I wrote a book about my life thus far. It’s entitled, “Fighting Through the Fear – My Journey of Healing from Childhood Sexual Abuse.”
I had planned on going to my grave with my secret of being sexually abused by a male babysitter as a child.

Decades went by. Finally, in 1992, I told someone: my wife Karla. Then I started having panic attacks, had a complete nervous breakdown, and learned I suffered from post-traumatic stress syndrome (PTSD).

My business was only four years old in 1992; I was 36 years old with a young family. With my family’s love, proper counseling, hard work, and God’s grace and mercy, I started a journey of healing from a horrible trauma.

It still took me until 2013 before I spoke publicly on my journey of healing. I saw how much sharing my story has helped others by letting them know they are not alone and healing is possible. In 2015, I decided to write a book about my experiences.

In “Fighting Through the Fear,” you’ll go with me on my journey of healing while raising a family, building a business, growing in my religious faith, and finding peace.

The picture on the cover of the book is one I took last year after a storm. I came through a ‘storm’ of childhood trauma that has affected my entire life, but the sun still shines and the waves calmed down. We are much stronger than we can imagine.

“Fighting Through the Fear” is now available at moodyspeaks.myshopify.com. A portion of the profits will be used to support organizations that help survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
