Everyday We Can Love and Laugh

I was asked to write some words for a book on survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
These are the words I wrote and they can be used by anyone that has lost hope and can’t let go of their past. I pray that anyone that feels alone in life, please know you are not alone and we can heal, find joy, and do some incredible things with our lives.
“I know the shame, the hurt, the confusion, the fear, the panic attacks, PTSD, that comes from being sexually abused as a child. I know the deep pain and how hard it is to take the first step in healing. We must fight through the fear and take the first step on the journey of healing. We not only survive we will thrive. With proper counseling, faith, support and hard work, we can do some incredible things with our lives despite our past. Refuse to let your past control your present and future. We can find a reason to love and laugh everyday.” C. David Moody, Jr.
I took the picture of this goose flying in our backyard. I said to myself, we can soar just like this bird. All we have to do is spread our wings and fly.

This is encouraging. I am trying. But I have a lot of fear and anxiety. I am sorry for what you endured as well.
